The Yambong Singalila trek is not your average trek. It's an offbeat adventure in the remote western corner of Sikkim. Beginning from the lesser-known Yambong valley, the route ascends to the Sikkim side of the Singalila range, a region seldom explored by trekkers.
Ascending through verdant forests bustling with birds, you'll reach some picturesque glacial lakes where you can set up camp. A little further up is the Dafe Bir viewpoint, which offers grand views of the Khangchendzonga range. The trail then passes through various rhododendron forests, with Mt. Khangchendzonga as a constant companion.
Get ready to be enchanted on the Yambong Singalila Trek in Sikkim! This high-altitude trek offers breathtaking views of five of the most demanding Himalayan peaks – Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchendzonga, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Sinoclu, and Mt. Lhotse. It's a must-do trek in the region.
Due to the closure of few parts of the previous Singalila Trek route, a new itinerary has been created to allow trekkers to access areas of the region that are still open. The new trekking route starts from western Dzongri and extends into accessible areas of Singalila Ridge. Trek mostly in Sikkim, with camp near Nepal border on seventh day for exceptional views of Himalayan peaks including Mount Everest, Mount Makalu, and Kumbakarna.
