Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Annapurna Base Camp, also known as "Deothali" to the locals, is considered a sacred place in Nepal. It is surrounded by Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Varahashikhar, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhare, also known as "Fish Tail". The Annapurna Sanctuary falls within the area managed by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, which aims to protect the environment and local culture while accommodating the needs of visitors.

This trek offers a wonderful combination of towering mountains and Himalayan culture. The Annapurna Himal lies between the Kali Gandaki and Marsyangdi river valleys and includes twelve peaks higher than 7,000 m and numerous others over 6,000 m. The landscape changes from rhododendron forests to bamboo groves and then to high desert landscapes. Similarly, the ethnicity changes from Aryan to Mongoloid stock, and the religion transitions from Hinduism to Buddhism as you ascend.
